{"id":1384,"date":"1996-08-26T00:00:07","date_gmt":"1996-08-26T08:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.abrupt.org\/abruptlog\/?p=1384"},"modified":"2015-08-10T14:10:24","modified_gmt":"2015-08-10T18:10:24","slug":"mine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abrupt.org\/abruptlog\/mine\/","title":{"rendered":"Mine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Can I really claim this mind?<br \/>\nThis matted den<br \/>\nI call it mine.<br \/>\nBut why?<br \/>\nWhen deep inside, great tunnels bend<br \/>\nto hide the truth from Ego&#8217;s eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Now<br \/>\nA restless cell<br \/>\ndivides<br \/>\nIt ends, yet multiplies:<br \/>\nThus the many-mirrored Mother<br \/>\nin disjunction never dies.<br \/>\nI am one and I am many, in an endless string of lives!<br \/>\nAnd so the chambers deep within me<br \/>\nreconnect and ramify.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;A light?<br \/>\nYet even here one shines.<br \/>\nWho would have guessed, in waking grayness<br \/>\nThat there was another side<br \/>\nto this milky maze of drainage<br \/>\nwith which each of us is mined?<\/p>\n<p>There it dances<br \/>\nat the edge,<br \/>\non the lip of sagging matter<br \/>\nLighting up a land we&#8217;ve left behind.<br \/>\nAnd our body is the shadow it defines.<\/p>\n<p>These dark waters running,<br \/>\nsurging<br \/>\nPassing boulders, cliffs of stone<br \/>\nThrough valleys rank with centaurs sunning,<br \/>\nForests sweetly overgrown<br \/>\nwith vines<br \/>\nAt last<br \/>\nIn moonlight full emerging,<br \/>\nThe stream another million finds<br \/>\nIn the Dreamtime all converging &#8212;<br \/>\nO star-seared sea!
